Meet Jen & Ian

TYPE 7

Ian

Ian's gift has always been depth — sitting with a type until he understands it completely, from the inside, then bringing it to life in a way people actually get. That's what you'll see if you've caught him on one of our videos or a podcast: a Seven doing what a Seven does best, making an idea come alive in the room. Behind the scenes, he's Jen's expert source and her check on every piece of content before it goes anywhere. Building ENRG as a business was never really his project — that's Jen's — but everything ENRG teaches about the Enneagram runs through him first.

TYPE 6

Jen

My personality type is a Six, and there's no clearer proof of it than how our first book got written. Ian and I were talking over coffee one morning and I said we should write a book — so I did. I'd planned to write the outline and hand the detail to him, but the more I learned, the more I realised I could write the whole thing myself, with ChatGPT alongside me as a research and drafting partner rather than the one doing the writing — I still had to know the material well enough to catch it when it got something wrong.

The real challenge wasn't the writing, it was the technical side of everything. I'd hit a wall, get frustrated, then properly stressed — and then, like clockwork, my Six would hit a point where it flat-out refused to be beaten, tipping me into my stress point, Three, and pushing through on sheer determination until the next hurdle turned up. This whole business got built over many trips around the ENRG GPS mechanism.

Between Ian's knowledge and enthusiasm for the subject, and my refusal to let a computer beat me, ENRG Perspective was created to share the mechanism that makes the human experience possible.
